Science Week 2016

We had great fun in 3rd and 4th class during ‘Science Week‘. Well done to all the boys and girls who made a huge effort in preparing their science experiments to show the rest of the class. 4th class were also lucky to attend a talk in IT Carlow for Science week which was a very enjoyable experience.

Visit from Carlow Camogie Champions

We recently had a visit from Carlow camogie player Kate Nolan who brought along the All-Ireland cup to show the children. Kate was accompanied by Leo McGough and Pat O’ Brien. The boys and girls got the opportunity to ask Kate questions about what it takes to be an All-Ireland champion. Many thanks to Kate, Leo and Pat.

We are Engineers!

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes had a visit from engineer, Tim Kavanagh. Tim told the children all about engineering including what it entails, the types of engineering there are and where examples of engineering can be seen in real life. The classes then got the opportunity to become engineers themselves when they were given the task of creating their own catapult – they even had a competition to see who could shoot the furthest! The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop.
